The day begins at 10am and will go on until everyone is finished, usually around 4:30-5pm.

If you are new to jewellery making you  will be given a quick health and safety walkthrough for the various tools and machines you will be using.

It can help if you come with an idea of what you’d like to make as the designing process can sometimes take the longest. Do not worry though, if you are lacking in inspiration we have lots of lovely books here to help you with ideas.

Please bring a savoury dish for a ‘bring and share’ lunch. Or you are welcome to go out if you prefer.

Please note the course cost does not include the cost of the silver. Payment for the silver can be made on the day (if paying by card there is a small charge) and how much you use will depend on what you make. As a guide: if you go for fairly light pieces you can make a ring for approx £3 – £8, a pendant, brooch or earrings for £5 – £20 or a bangle or chain for £10 – £45. This can be more if you go for large chunky pieces.
